The KiTalbum is a new hybrid physical-digital format that combines the collector's experience of physical media with the advantages of digital content. Without the compromises of streaming or, god forbid, subscriptions.
 
The physical package comes in a jewel case and includes 5 art cards, a photo and a sticker. The digital content is accessed via the KiT app, where everything is stored locally on your device after activation. No internet connection needed after that.
 
The app also includes instrumental versions of the songs, lyrics and an image gallery. The digital content may also change over time, if there is remasters, commentaries, podcasts etc.
 
TL;DR It's a box with some cool physical goodies and a little keychain that lets you activate the album on your phone. Almost like putting a CD into a CD player, but on your phone.
And if Mercury is being Mercury too much, you can switch the tracks to intrumental.
